Sometimes we need to open old Blend files and if the textures are not packed and we moved the textures from their original location, we may find out that our scene will display in pink when we try to render it. Pink surfaces means that Blender could not find the texture file. In most cases, you can go to file -> external data -> find missing files and browse for the location to retrieve them. Blender will search the folder you select and its subfolders to find the missing textures by file name. In this article, we will find the cause of the pink Blender file and how to fix it.

Blender is one of the go-to open-source software choices for animation. Surprisingly, it doesn’t take much to get started on creating simple character animations. Once you have a final 3D character model, you can bring it to life with the software’s numerous animation features and tools. For example, Blender’s rigging tools will help you to achieve the desired movements for your character. Poses can also be added and manipulated with the software’s pose editing features. In this article, we’ll go over how to copy animation data from one object to another in Blender.

You may have come across a scenario where you just want to point a camera to an object or a specific area in your scene to get an idea of how it will look in the final render. Other 3D packages usually have a camera setting that allows us to “point at” an object. This can be either part of a scene or a null object which doesn’t show up but can be animated. The idea behind this is that no matter where you move the camera, it will always frame your object of choice. What’s the most painless hasslefree way to do this in Blender? In Blog's Today, we definitely have the answer.

When rendering a mesh with smooth shading enabled, you may notice a dark region or shadow on some faces. Smooth shading on a mesh with n-gons produces a more notable appearance, with the n-gons going black when rendered. N-gons is a face or polygon that is made up of five or more sides or edges connected by five or more vertices. Anything over a quad (4 sides) is considered an n-gon. With artists when they're rendering, there is definitely a case where some faces appear dark on a mesh in Blender. In Blog's Today, we will explore how to fix faces appearing dark on a mesh in Blender with iRender.

Before you make a video file of your animation, it is a good idea to render it as an Image Sequence first. If you render it directly to a video file, you can’t stop/pause the render or there is a chance that you will get a corrupted file and have to render all of the frames all over again.
