Powerful cloud rendering for 3ds Max and Octane

3ds Max is a computer graphics program for creating 3D models, animations, and digital images. It’s one of the most popular programs in the computer graphics industry and is well known for having a robust toolset for 3D artists. A favorite among game developers, TV commercial studios, and architects, 3ds Max is owned by Autodesk, the same company responsible for programs like Maya and AutoCAD.

Octane is the world’s first and fastest unbiased, spectrally correct GPU render engine, delivering quality and speed unrivaled by any production renderer on the market.

Otoy offers Enterprise and Studio subscriptions, with Enterprise remove the GPU limit entirely, and Octane Studio support up to two local GPUs, plus Nvidia’s NVLink technology.

As you may know, 3ds Max does support Octane rendering. And the latest release is OctaneRender® for 3ds Max® v2021.1.4. Let’s see how you should build a suitable set of hardware for 3ds Max and Octane in the article below.

System requirements for 3ds Max and Octane

Operating system:

        • Windows 10 64-bit Edition or higher
        • Apple Mackintosh is no longer supported For Autodesk 3ds Max

Hardware recommendation:

For 3ds Max

        • Processor CPU: 64-bit Intel® or AMD® multi-core processor with SSE4.2 instruction set
        • Graphic card GPU: For a productive user experience with your product, Autodesk recommends to use a card which has a minimum of 1024MB of video memory.
        • Memory RAM: 4GB minimum (8 GB or more recommended)
        • Storage: 9 GB of free disk space for install

For Octane

        • Processor CPU: recommended Intel Xeon W-2235 3.8GHz (4.6GHz Turbo) 6 Core – with very high clock speeds.
        • Graphic card GPU: GeForce® GTX 980  or GeForce® GTX 1070 for hobbyists. These are minimum for starters.
        • Memory RAM: OTOY requires a minimum of 8GB RAM, and recommend 16GB or more
        • Storage: The high speed of SSDs allows your system to boot, launch applications, and load files many times faster than any traditional hard drive.

Powerful cloud rendering for 3Ds Max with Octane users

iRender provide to you high performance and configurable server system for 3D rendering, AI Training, VR & AR, simulation, etc. We believe that design and creative activities are private and personal that only you artists will know what you want with your animation. That’s the reason why we provide remote server so that you can install any software you need, and do whatever you like with your project.

You will only need to install your software for the first time, and next time you connect to the computer everything is ready for use.

Octane has 2 versions Enterprise and Studio which can run with different maximum number of GPU. At iRender, we offer tailored packages with state of the art RTX3090 for both version. You can choose dual 3090s for Octane studio, and multi 3090s for Octane enterprise (from 4×3090, 6×3090 to 8×3090). Please refer to this link for more details.

You can see that our configuration above are all more than enough to have a project in 3ds Max with Octane renderer run smoothly. Processor is AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3955WX @ 3.90GHz. RAM varies from 128GB (for server 4P, 5P) to 256GB (for server 8A and 9A). We also provide storage NVMe SSD with 1TB or 2TB. With those hardware, you can be assured that your scene will load faster, more stable when running with multiple software.

Come to the most important factor Video card (GPU). RTX3090 comes first with 670.6 scores, proving that it’s the best choice for Octane users.

Plus, at iRender, we provide you more support than just those config.

NVLink available for large and complex scene

If 24GB VRam is not enough for your scene, we always have NVLink to help you access more than that. You can access this article to know how NVLink benefits your 3D projects.

Free and convenient transferring tool

iRender offers a powerful and free file transfer tool: Gpuhub Sync. With fast file transfer speed, large data capacity, and completely free. You can transfer all the necessary data into our Gpuhub Sync tool at any time without connecting to the server. The data will be automatically synchronized in the Z drive inside the server, ready for you to use.

Flexible price

Besides hourly rental above, you can always save from 10% to 20% with our Fixed Rental feature. For those who’s in need of server more than a day, or have extremely large project, we advise to choose daily/ weekly/monthly rental package. The discount is attractive (up to 10% for daily packages, 20% on weekly and monthly packages), and you don’t have to worry about over-charging if you forget to shutdown the server.

Real human 24/7 support service

Helping you to handle the problem quickly, effectively, saving you both time and money.

Render farm supports powerful dual and multi 3090s

When you use iRender, you can free your computer during the hardest and most arduous part – rendering. That is also the reason that Render Farm service is becoming more and more popular and essential. However, as far as we know, iRender is proud to be one of the very few rendering services that support powerful and state of the art RTX3090, with various options from dual, to multi 3090s.

Let’s see some of our test with RTX3090 for Octane:

With the above advantages and the machine configuration packages that iRender has just released, we believe that 3ds Max and Octane users will have the most comfortable, quickest, and most effective rendering time.
