When lighting interiors in Redshift for Cinema 4D, we often use environment maps to create a natural look. The only issue is that this requires a lot of global illumination bounces to look good and can significantly increase render times. Therefore, we can avoid adding global illumination bounces by using portal lights instead to improve your interior lighting.

Compared to the other 3D software, Cinema 4D studios and artists have the lion's share in the industries that need motion graphics like advertising, commercials, video production, and films. This does not mean that the other 3d software such as Houdini, Maya, Max, and Blender, are not good. But cinema 4d was and is still the go-to 3d software for designers and studios. For today’s article, let’s figure out the reasons why Artists choose Cinema 4D.

As we all know, "Biased" renderers allow users to specify the quality ('num samples') of effects such as glossy reflections, brute-force GI, AO and so on. This level of control is both a strength and weakness of biased rendering. However, that level of control is also a weakness because the artist has to spend time tweaking the 'num samples' settings. Even worse, sometimes users may increase the 'num samples' of the wrong effect which can make rendering longer while not providing any visual benefit. For this reason, it's important to understand the different possible types of noise that exist in Redshift and know which settings to tweak to produce clean results.
