How to fix Keyshot freezing or crashing

KeyShot is an interactive computer-rendering application for Mac and PC that allows you to import your 3D models and create beautiful photo-realistic images in minutes. Besides, KeyShot brings you real-time 3D rendering that displays results instantly and reduces the time to create realistic product visuals.
However, this software still gets the crashing problem sometimes. Let’s find out why does it happen and how to solve that problem in this article. 

New KeyShot releases require the most recent graphics drivers. Therefore, each time you updates software, you should check your driver:

1. Launch Windows Device Manager.
2. Go to Display Adapters.
3. Right-click your card and go to Properties -> Driver -> Driver Date.

Your driver should be the latest. To check the version of the driver, please visit the graphic card manufacturer’s web page and search for the latest driver for your card model. For example, DELL users should go through DELL’s website to obtain the latest “video” drivers.

This crash is normally caused by the PC’s Backup and Recovery. This problem usually appears on Alienware – A Dell device. To fix this issue, you can try the following:

1. Go to your Start menu, click Control Panel -> Programs.
2. Click Uninstall a Program.
3. Find Dell Backup and Recovery or AlienRespawn (on Alienware), or NAHIMIC.
4. Right-click and select Uninstall.
5. Follow the prompts until the utility uninstalls and re-start your computer

Keyshot support team received reports that Raptr, screen recording software, and NAHIMIC, gaming audio software, cause similar crashes.

They recommend uninstalling Raptr and removing the faulting module: C:\PROGRA~2\RAPTRI~1\PlaysTV\ltc_game64-116096.dll

According to Microsoft support information, the .config file may be corrupt.  Delete your user.config file is an easy way to handle this issue. Read more information here.

When you open Keysot software and you are receiving the message below:

“The Program can’t start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer, Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.”

Then, you will need to download and install one of these small updates:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 – PC 32-bit

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 – PC 64-bit
